Falling of the Rain
02:38
|
|||
Will you see the light
Coming through the cracks
Of this broken wall
That used to stand so tall
Will you be around
When I run aground
And will you hear the sound
Of the falling of the rain
When you dry your tears in vain
It used to be so easy
Used to be a game
We danced away the spring
Played by any name
It's hard now to remember
At this summer's end
When we feel the sting
Of the falling of the rain
And we dry our tears in vain
But when I see your smile
As the morning breaks
It always melts my heart
Tears my soul apart
I love you now as then
And that will never end
Even though it's late
And the falling of the rain
Makes me dry my tears in vain
Even though it's late
And the falling of the rain
Makes me dry my tears in vain

The Rampage
03:43
|
|||
We were driving down the road
And our burden was a load
The morning will bring the answer
But the answer will be bad
The loot ran in the millions
And the death toll rising high
The guards were gone, shot on sight
Not a one could stop our flight
And we never looked back,
We were bad (3x)
The law was on our backs
After our blood and the swag
But they didn't realize
That to them we'd long been wise
We covered all our tracks
Puppets in a house of wax
So they ended up all dead in their cars
Glassy eyes staring afar
And we never looked back,
We were bad (3x)
Two hundred miles away,
there was a party going on
The Russians were invited,
but they didn't come
Their ship anchored in the harbor,
had a captain who was a drunk
And he never knew what hit him
when the ship was sunk
We were bad (3x)
We ditched the car by the roadside
There was nowhere there to hide
So the farmer and his wife
They were left to pay the price
There was no more need to run
So we stuck to our guns
And we vanished in the night
Gone by the early light
We dug a hole deep in the ground
Stashed away the loot we found
And we never looked back,
We were bad (3x)
Two hundred miles away,
there was a party going on
The Russians were invited,
but they didn't come
Their ship anchored in the harbor,
had a captain who was a drunk
And he never knew what hit him
when the ship was sunk
We were bad (9x)

Come Again
04:02
|
|||
There was something in the air
A feeling of despair
It messed around with your head
What the fortune teller said
So one day out of the blue
I saw another you
A light shone in your eyes
With a glimpse of paradise
Come again, when the rain preludes the spring
Come again, when the nightingale begins to sing
Clear away the dust that's lying inside your head
And then one murky morning
You packed your bags and went
Down those lonely roads
Paved with dreams and hopes
Friends told me that they saw you
Working in some bar
For a handful unseeing faces
You didn't get very far
Come again, when the rain preludes the spring
Come again, when the nightingale begins to sing
Clear away the dust that's lying inside your head
Come again, when the nightingale begins to sing
Clear away the dust that's lying inside your head
Come again, when the nightingale begins to sing
Clear away the dust that's lying inside your head
Come again, come again, …

Someday
04:14
|
|||
There is an ill wind blowing
Across the land
And soon we'll have to face it
And make a stand
No fire or flaming arrow
Can touch me now
Or break the resolve that I'm
Feeling somehow
Someday we'll break all the
Someday we'll break all the
Shackles that imprison us in our lives
Someday we'll break all the
Someday we'll break all the
Barriers that could throw us back in time
No need to be afraid
We will prevail
No need to run and hide
We cannot fail
There is a way out of
Quicksand time
No need to hide away
We will be fine
Someday we'll break all the
Someday we'll break all the
Shackles that imprison us in our lives
Someday we'll break all the
Someday we'll break all the
Barriers that could throw us back in time

Dragonfly
02:42
|
|||
Dragonfly, I wonder why
You stare at me, and fix my eye
Is it cause you wonder
Wonder what to do
For you the choice is easy
You've only got to fly, dragonfly
Dragonfly, I wonder why
You stare at me, straight in the eye
Is it cause you're weary
Weary what to be
For you the choice is easy
You're a dragonfly, a dragonfly
And dragonflies they should not wonder
About their destiny
It is written on the water
What you're supposed to be
Dragonfly, now there you lie
Dead and gone, the lonely one
It didn't help to wonder
And it doesn't help to know
The road that's laid out for you
Long ago dragonfly
It didn't help to wonder
And it doesn't help to know
The road that's laid out for you
Long ago dragonfly
Long ago, long ago, long ago

Songbird
03:05
|
|||
Rain came pouring down
Running down my face
The people went underground
Hiding in disgrace
Empty pages in the magazines
Snow on TV
No more rice cookies and cream
Fools that we’ve been
And we'll weep
(And we'll weep)
And we’ll cry
And we’ll stand in line to sigh
The day the songbird flies
The day the songbird flies
(As the water pours)
The race is heating up
The experts all agree
No more time for covering up
Our ship is finally here
The people they wept and moaned
Darkness falling fast
With the cold now in our bones
Will we understand at last
And we'll weep
(And we'll weep)
And we’ll cry
And we’ll stand in line to sigh
The day the songbird flies
The day the songbird flies
(As the water pours)
(2x)

Border of the Wood
03:56
|
|||
It was noon, blazing hot
The sun brought tears to my eyes
There was a forest, looming ahead
It was a blessing in disguise
When I sat down, by the edge
I saw lines and dots in the sand
The winds blew, swept them away
Dropping the sand in my hand
Suddenly a vision appeared before my eyes
Beckoned me to listen, before it vaporized
I couldn't see the reason and I never understood
Why that vision came to me at the border of the wood
The sun set, the moon rose
There was a chill in the air
All was quiet, all was still
Only the rustling in the trees
Suddenly faint music made its way to my ears
Beckoned me to follow till again it disappeared
I couldn't see the reason and I never understood
Why that music came to me at the border of the wood
And then by midnight, all was dark
It started raining really hard
I took a chance, and went ahead
As I walked into the wood
I was met, by the vision
While the music drew me near
The vision glowed, the music soared
And I was all in disarray
Slowly then the vision, led me through the dark
Back to the edge, till in the end it disappeared
Till this day I wonder and I never understood
Why this came to pass at the border of the wood
Till this day I wonder and I never understood
Why this came to pass at the border of the wood
Why this came to pass at the border of the wood
Why this came to pass at the border of the wood

Empire
03:43
|
|||
I left you with my books about the fall of Rome
And the frozen cruelty of Mount Vesuvius
Like in the fresco of
The toothless dog
Defending his home
I guard my tree house
My oak hideout
The flood may always come from fear of living
Or from the pool of tears at the roots
Always ignoring that
Volcanoes may
Erupt one day
And cover everything
That pokes their path
And leave all trace
Of mankind
For the wiser
Deacons and Darwin struggle
gnarling as gutter ghosts
Excavating every inch
unfit to chop this tree
Unable to stop those tears
And praying that
The fresco dog won't bite
When trying to open up
The door they'll say
It's just another
False alarm
And it won't make
An empire fall
Because we are prepared to survive,
we smile
At the craters of the moon
shining through the leaves
Fading the man in the oak
A lunatic
Another howling wolf
Claiming to once have fed
The founders of
An empire
Fearing the flood
An empire
Betrayed by a fire
